Do Sarawakian and Sabahan still live at tree top?Are you sure? Do you think you are gonna delte this Q's and ask again with amendment? Why are some Malaysians racist even though they say they're not?In my humble opinion this is because the racist people think they are talking about the right and being in defensive side.I'm a Malaysian born in countryside about 2 1/2 hours driving from Malaysia's Capital city. I'll speak base on my personal capacity, I believe I'm not racist but i'm not sure how others will perceived my opinion. I'm Malaysia when a person make a comment about other races its largely because they view the races from their own norms and customs point of view, although realizing they live in multicultural/ethnicity community, but lacking of realization on the importance of appreciating diversity.Malays normally assumed superiority over other races, and feel other race should adhere to Malay's custom. Hence, the comment about other races is regarded as necessary as they feel that their customs or right is being violated. For example it is considered inappropriate for a woman to wear sleeveless shirt in public in Malay customs, however it is acceptable in other races point of view such as in Chinese or Indian custom. For me, it's showing the failure of our community in becoming receptive to diversity, i put this responsibility on the leaders shoulder, the failure to make Malays more receptive to diversity is their failure. In this context the leaders is the government and political parties. Issue and sentiment such as Malay right and Malay special status is always being used as mean to gain support. Sadly, they fail to realize this is actually seeding the spirit among Malay that we're special we're superior than other races. Which translated into what happen to our society today. I'm not saying that Malay should follow other customs, because we don't like someone else to force us to be what we are not, so does other races, they should't feel forced to accustomed to Malay way of living. We should be more understanding and appreciate the differences between races. We should learn about others culture so we can be a better member of the society, because we understand them and they understand us. Probably, we school should start teaching or emphasizing on cultural diversity in Malaysia, this is not through criticizing or scrutinizing the practice but more about understanding why we're different and how to compensate each other, If we really follow Islamic teaching we should understand that Islam is open to diversity we're taught to accept people from different races and places. The reason God create diversity not for us to scrutinize but for us to learn from each other.ONCE AGAIN THIS IS MERELY MY PERSONAL OPINION, IM NOT RACIST, BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW IT MAY APPEAR TO OTHERS, THANK YOU, MA'ASSALAMAH.
